In compiling the list of “Virginia’s Top Doctors,” Virginia Business Magazine reports that it contacted more than 10,000 medical professionals through a variety of outreach methods, including via health systems and medical associations. A Colorado-based media research and analytics firm conducted the balloting. Casting their ballots on a web site that was available only during a limited voting period, physicians identified which of their peers they considered to be top doctors across 60 categories of medical specialties.
